There is nothing like freezing time in an image you can hold in your heart forever add cherish on your walls.
Timing
Whilst I aim for 3-4 hours, the duration of each session is completely determined by your baby. I don't rush these sessions as I know each baby has different needs. I am entirely baby led and your baby sets the pace of the session.
The best time for newborn sessions is when they are 7-14 days old. This allows us to get the best out of our sessions and aim to get those sleepy shots with those tiny toes.
Once your baby has been fed, you can relax while I work my magic.

FAQ
When should we book our Newborn session ?
You should book your newborn portrait session between your 12 and 20 week scan. I will place the booking based on your estimated due date and once your little one arrives we can confirm the actual date of the shoot. Most sessions take place soon after their arrival when they are still at their curled up newborn stage so that we can capture those sleepy shots.
How long do the sessions last ?
Newborn sessions typically last between two and four hours but I do not schedule more than one full shoot a day so there is no rush or pressure. It's a warm and cozy space with dimmed light and soothing sounds so it's not unheard of for the adults to nod off too which I love!
You've relaxed and had a nice cuppa (while it's actually still hot) which will have no doubt become a rareity!
We will move at your baby's pace having as many breaks as they need for milk and cuddles.
What do I need to bring with me to the shoot ?
A special blanket, a family heirloom prop, the cute hat Grandma made, name-letters or a special stuffed toy can all be easily incorporated into your baby’s first photographs. i have a variety of props you can choose from. Bring plenty of diapers, baby wipes, bottles of breast milk or formula if baby takes bottle, dummy, two blankets, along with any other items you wish to be included in your baby’s photo shoot. Because accidents happen, it is also wise to bring an extra change of clothing for yourself.
Also bring a nice tshirt shirt for your partner.
What if my baby cries or doesn’t settle?
Many parents worry ahead of their session that their baby will cry and I won’t be able to get the images they hope for. Each session is very calm and relaxed, and that includes the baby. I only do one session a day, and the session is baby-led. All newborns cry sometimes, and if your baby does we will take our time and make sure they are happy again with feeding or burping, just as you would at home. Babies I am posing sometimes squeak a little when moved while asleep, but you don’t need to worry about them screaming and preventing the session from running smoothly. If for any reason I feel your baby is unhappy with what I am doing, I will stop. No image is more important than their comfort.
Is it safe ?
In short, yes. Your baby’s safety and comfort are my top priority. I take great care to watch her temperature, circulation and comfort are never compromised. As a Nurse, I hold my DBS and also am first aid trained.
Also, I am fully insured
